Roger Federer has participated in nineteen seasons of the ATP World Tour, and in five of them he has finished as number one of the ATP ranking (in the seasons 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009), matching the Jimmy Connors brand alone Surpassed by Pete Sampras with six. He also finished five times as number two, (in the seasons 2003, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014) making him the only tennis player to finish ten seasons between the top two places in the ranking. He also finished twice in third place (in 2011 and 2015) and twice in sixth place (in 2002 and 2013), completing fourteen consecutive seasons among the six best in the world. He is also the second-best player in ATP history (1099), only behind Jimmy Connors, but he is the absolute leader of wins in all elite tournaments such as the Grand Slam (314), ATP World Tour Finals (52), the Masters 1000 (341), and the Olympics (13), as well as rivals in the Top 10 (205), and in total on hard courts (679).
